It was bound to happen. The Folsom Lake volleyball team, riding a six-game winning streak, rolled into Santa Rosa on Wednesday night and, after clawing their way to a 2-set lead (27-25, 25-22), proceeded to lose the final three sets to the inspired Bear Cubs (25-18, 25-22, 15-12). It was a painful lesson for the Falcons, who may have gotten just a little too sure of themselves after their 6-game winning streak. The Bear Cubs, though, proved a point; the Big 8 is a deep conference and if you don't bring your 'A-game' every night, somebody will beat you.
With the loss, the Falcons and Bear Cubs are tied for third place with identical 5-2 records, just behind second place American River (6-1) and leader Delta (6-0). The Falcons (12-6 overall) will host Cosumnes River (11-8, 3-4 in Big 8) on Friday at 6:30 pm
