The SRJC Men's Soccer team met Sunday at 5:00am behind the Russian River Brewing Company to volunteer for the Santa Rosa Marathon in the early hours of the morning. After the team was dropped off at their posts throughout the city by tram, they helped out by keeping cars and pedestrians free of the marathon course and motivating the runners as the went by. Along with this the volunteers also helped direct many participants and onlookers with questions they had about the race. 

SRJC relished the opportunity to give back to their community and the experience of actively helping people throughout the day. They were also pleasantly surprised to see how many enthusiastic supporters came out to cheer the runners on. This helped them realize the value of volunteering because they could see first-hand what it meant to so many people. Overall, the team had a great experience helping the community and cannot wait to do it again next year.
