Sac City Uses Sixth-Inning Surge to Top Santa Rosa, 4–2
Behind a dominant outing from pitcher Korrie Almond and a clutch sixth-inning rally, Sacramento City College softball defeated Santa Rosa Junior College 4–2 on April 3, 2025, at home in Sacramento. The victory pushes the Panthers to 20–9 overall and 7–6 in conference play.
Panthers Capitalize on Santa Rosa Miscues
Sacramento City got on the board in the bottom of the first when Larissa Banks drove in Jenna Potter on a single, capitalizing on one of three Bear Cubs errors. The game remained tight until the sixth, with Santa Rosa holding a narrow 2–1 lead after RBI hits from Alexis Hoke and Mira Olvera in the fourth and fifth innings.
Big Sixth Inning Turns Tide
Sac City erupted for three runs in the bottom of the sixth, aided by a wild pitch and a critical error. Kayla Garber scored on a wild pitch to tie the game, and Juliana McClain added a go-ahead RBI groundout to make it 3–2. Another run came across on a misplay at first base, giving the Panthers a 4–2 lead.
Almond Locks It Down
Korrie Almond was sharp in the circle, going the full seven innings and striking out seven without issuing a walk. She allowed just one earned run and scattered six hits, improving to 12–6 on the season.
