SANTA ROSA – The Cañada College women's soccer team hit the road for the first time this season on Friday but unfortunately the Colts couldn't bring home the win. A wild first half of scoring resulted in a 4-1 non-conference setback at Santa Rosa Junior College.
Santa Rosa jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead after scoring in the sixth and ninth minute. But the Colts finally broke that string thanks to Rachel Mull's second goal of the season, a strike off the assist from Taleah Mendoza in the 12th minute, that cut the Bear Cubs' lead in half.
But Santa Rosa added two final goals to close out the first half and neither team found the back of the net over the final 45 minutes.
Jianna Nabung posted 3 first-half saves in goal for the Colts and Cassandra Herrera added three more in the second.
Cañada, now 1-1, returns to action on Wednesday (Sep. 6) when they host Cabrillo College in a 4 p.m. Coast Conference interdivision game.
