Falcons Soar Past Bear Cubs with Dominant Third Quarter
The Folsom Lake Falcons put together a commanding performance on the road, using a massive third-quarter surge to defeat the Santa Rosa Bear Cubs 75-61 on Friday night.
The game was competitive early, with Folsom Lake holding a slim 18-16 lead after the first quarter. By halftime, the Falcons extended their advantage to 40-32, but it was in the third period where they truly took control. Outscoring Santa Rosa 26-13 in the quarter, Folsom Lake's offensive efficiency and defensive intensity created a gap the Bear Cubs couldn't recover from.
Santa Rosa (now 61 points on 39.7% shooting) struggled to keep up, despite a strong effort from Ivy Gonzalez, who led all scorers with 23 points and added 10 rebounds. The Bear Cubs fought back in the fourth quarter but couldn't overcome the Falcons' balanced attack.
