SRJC Wrestling defeated visiting Sierra College on 10/16 in Haehl Pavilion 35-17 on Sophomore night. Again, behind a full team effort the Bear Cubs won 7 matches including the final 4 of the dual. Derrick Ruffin (125) started the night off with a major decision 17-5 against Sierra's Juarez. Erickson Edpao (133) followed suit with another major decision 22-10 against Sierra's Jones. Sierra's N. Able came out ahead against SRJC's Ali Hamzia (141) with a fall in the last minute of the match. Ikaika Madayag (149) got SRJC back on track with a huge 16-0 tech fall against Sierra's Owen Willis. Sierra's Islam bested SRJC's Tito Rodarte (157) 18-3 and Kyle Hoze (Sierra) got a fall against Amrit Cheema (165) making the team score 11-17. The Bear Cubs finished the night with four straight wins including Zack Morgan's (174) fall over Sierra's Bonton.  Jesus Anguiano continued (184) with a major decision over Sierra's Tinoco 12-3. Rayhan Jaleel (197) followed with a big fall in the first period against Sierra's M. Casado and Joe Ellis (HWT) capped the night off with another first period fall against Sierra's Hojati making the final team score 35-17 and improving the Bear Cubs record to 5-0. Next up for the Bear Cubs is the North Team Dual Championship 10/19 at Modesto Junior College.
