After two tough losses on the road, the Bear Cubs (7-10, 1-2) were hoping to get a win at home against the Sacramento City College Panthers (3-10, 0-3). The Panthers got on the scoreboard first when they sank two free throws 1:25 into the game. The Bear Cubs missed their first nine shots and finally tied the game at 2-2 on Taylor Graham's steal and layup at the 14:10 mark. But the Panthers sank a 3-pointer 14 seconds later. After three more missed shots, the Bear Cubs hit five out of their next seven and Anne Studdert put in two free throws to jump out in front 15-7 with 11:06 on the clock. They maintained the lead to go into halftime in front 25-18.

            Alicia Mehtlan scored the first four points of the second half with two free throws and a field goal. Jenna Dunbar's 3-pointer and field goals by Vai Thompson and Taylor Graham stretched the lead to 36-19 at the 15:44 mark. The Panthers hit a 3-pointer 90 seconds later and sparked their comeback which included two more treys to close the gap to 36-42 with 9:14 on the clock. Anne Studdert's 3-pointer play and Jenna Dunbar's 3-pointer and field goal increased their lead to 52-43 with 4:26 remaining. The Bear Cubs missed their next five shots and the Panthers hit a 3-pointer with 1:14 to play to cut their deficit to 50-55. They stole the ball and scored 12 seconds later. Vai Thompson made a tough shot with 49 seconds on the clock. The Panthers came down and hit a 3-pointer with 36 seconds left, to pull to within two points, 55-57. The Bear Cubs turned the ball over again just past half court and the Panthers got off a good shot that missed, but they grabbed the offensive rebound. Fortunately for the Bear Cubs, the buzzer sounded before their opponents could take another shot.

            The Bear Cubs cut down on their turnover total (16), but made four at crucial times in the game that the Panthers capitalized on. They were streaky shooters and made only 21 out of 64 (33%).

            Jenna Dunbar made 5 out of 20 shot attempts, but 4 were from beyond the arc for a total of 14 points. Alicia Mehtlan sank 5 field goals and made all four of her free throws to account for her 14 points. Taylor Graham and Anne Studdert each contributed 7 points, Vai Thompson 6, Brooke Santander 5 and Niami Saint Louis 4. Taylor Graham led in rebounding with 8 and in assists and steals with 4 each. Jenna Dunbar also made 4 steals and passed for 3 assists.
