Wrestling: Dowell wins women's division at West Hills Lemoore Tournament

The Bear Cubs dropped their first conference match at Fresno City College 7-36. Winning matches for SRJC were 165 lbs. Joel Anguiano decisioned Ryan Zaragoza FCC 9-5, and at 174 lbs Cameron Casey major decision over Conrad Lopez FCC 17-5. Anguiano remains undefeated at 6-0. Casey improved to 5-2 on the season. 

The Bear Cubs continued their weekend and competed in the West Hills Invitational in Lemoore. SRJC's Shaina Dowell, wrestling at 125 lbs, won the women's division at the tournament. Dowell went 5-0 and gave up only three escape points on her five matches. 

SRJC finished 10th overall out of 16 teams.  Leading the way for the Bear Cubs, Tyler Poalillo went 4-1 with four pins to finish third at 133 lbs. Poalillo improved his record to 10-3. Ian Black wrestling, at 174 lbs, went 4-2 to finish fourth.

The Cubs next action will be against Modesto in a conference dual Wednesday October 4th in Tauzer gym at 7:00 pm.
