Wrestling bests Sierra 51-12 in final home meet of the season

Santa Rosa hosted Sierra College for their sophomore night last week. The six sophomore student athletes wrestling for the last time, at home, in Tauzer gym did not disappoint the crowd winning the dual meet 51-12.

Outstanding performances turned in by the Bear Cubs included:

  • Sophomore Tyler Poalillo, ranked third in state at 133 lbs pinning Carlos Perez, Sierra in 1:40
  • Sophomore Blake Boswell, ranked 4th in state at 149 lbs, pinning Kobe Allen, Sierra in :44 seconds of the first round
  • Cameron Casey, ranked 8th at 174 lbs, turned in the fastest fall of the evening pinning Mike Passiglin, Sierra in just 0:36 seconds

The Bear Cubs, ranked 7th in California, improved to 4-2 on the season. The next action for SRJC is Saturday, November 11, at Sac City for duals against Skyline, Sacramento, and SJ Delta.
