Women's Swim & Dive Season Preview

After another trip to the podium at the 2016 CCCAA Swimming & Diving State Championships, the SRJC Women's Swim & Dive team looks to another competitive season.

The 2017 roster includes seven sophomores.  Key returners include:

Jasmine Alger, 2017 Team Captain

  • 2016 Big 8 Champion, 200 Butterfly
  • 2016 First Team All Conference
  • 2016 All American
  • 2016 Academic All American
  • State Championship Finalist, 100 & 200 Butterfly
  • Current school record holder, 200 Butterfly

Elana Candiotti, Diver

  • 2016 State Championship & Big 8 Conference Silver Medalist
  • 2016 First Team All Conference
  • 2016 All American
  • 2016 Academic All American, and

Lucia Mora2017 Team Captain

  • 2016 First Team All Conference
  • 2016 All American
  • State Championship Finalist, 100 & 200 Breaststrokes

The 2017 roster also welcomes eight new freshmen as well.  Stand-out newcomers include long distance freestyler Mary Lane; local IMer Taylor Sargis; sprint specialist Hailey Vance; and diver Lizzie Walls

The Cubs finished second to conference rival Sierra College in their home opener, The NorCal Relays meet earlier this month and begin travel competition this weekend, Friday, 2/24, at the Los Rios Invitational hosted by Sac City College.
