The SRJC Volleyball team traveled to Redwood City to kickoff their season on Wednesday, September 3rd. The team found out days before that their starting setter would be unable to participate in this first match, and therefore the group knew that they would have to come together and make the line-up shakeup work to the best of their ability. With freshmen jitters clear on the court after the first serve, the Bear Cubs began their battle against Cañada College. However, it was the calming presence and determination of the sophomore defensive specialists that helped lead the Bear Cubs to their first 3-0 victory of the season in their opening match. Now 1-0 the team will travel to Alameda College on Friday, September 12th for their next match of pre-season play. Go Bear Cubs!
