SRJC snatched a 5 set win on Wednesday night in its Big 8 Conference opener against Sacramento City College (22-25, 25-19, 17-25, 25-15, 15-12). The Bear Cubs showed some nerves throughout the match, but proved that they could get the job done in the end. Setter Emily Bonfigli helped her team with 44 assists, and 10 digs. Sophomore captains Bryce Gevas and Becca Steiner contributed 20 digs, 6 aces, and freshmen outside hitters Brianna Oritz and Angelica Chesley added 25 kills to the match. SRJC is on the road once again Friday, October 3rd to face San Joaquin Delta College at 6:30pm. Go Bear Cubs!
