Bear Cub Volleyball Ousts Delta for the First Time Since 2012

The #20 ranked Bear Cubs showed up in Stockton ready to play Wednesday night. Hungry for a win against the #16 ranked San Joaquin Delta Mustangs, the Bear Cubs knew they were in for a fight. Tough serving to start the match proved to be the turning point, giving the Cubs full control as the match went on.

In the first set, the Bear Cubs held on to a comfortable lead, starting with a 7-1 run and finishing the set 25-22. The second set proved to hold the momentum of the match, with the Cubs battling out a 28-26 finish. They then carried the momentum into the third set and finished it off 25-18.

Ingrid Jungferman led the Bear Cubs with 7 kills, 3 aces and 16 assists. Breanna Flanagan notched on another 7 kills and a service ace. Violet Johnson led all defenders with 16 digs. It was an evenly distributed team contribution for the Bear Cubs, scoring 36 kills on the match.

The Bear Cubs are now 9-3 on the season and 3-0 in conference play, heading into their match Friday against American River College.
