Women's Water Polo Take first Win of the 2015 Season

Santa Rosa Junior College Women's Water Polo picked up their first win of the 2015 season in their Big 8 conference opening game vs. Sac City College. Freshman Raquel Castro scored the first goal of the match up within the first possession of play. Both teams continued to trade goals throughout the first five minutes with the score tied at threes. After earning and scoring a 5-meter penalty, SRJC took the lead and kept it for the remainder of the game. A number of Bear Cubs scored their first college career goal in the game including: Zoe Feldman (1), Kiana Hurley (1) and Logan Amadon (4).

The Bear Cubs had a strong finish with a final score of 20-7 at the Panther's pool. Goalie Haleigh Ahlborn had four saves, a steal, and an assist from the cage in the victory. Sophomore Ivylee Senn added a goal as well, and had an impressive four assists to aid her team's offensive attack. Other goal scorers for the Bear Cubs: Dulcie Manchenton (7), Castro, (5) and Olivia Andrade (1).
