The Women's Wrestling Team took on fierce competition at the prestigious Sac City Women's Open on Saturday, February 8. Facing off against top talent from across the state and four-year collegiate programs, the Bear Cubs delivered a strong showing, securing a 9th-place team finish—just 8 points shy of breaking into the top five.

Leading the charge, Lyla Kondrashoff (160) put together an impressive performance, earning a 4th-place medal with a 4-2 record, all four wins coming by fall. Other standout efforts came from Jessica Gonzalez (117) and Cassady Lopez Hernandez (138), who both battled to 2-2 records.

Next up, the Bear Cubs dive into conference action and make program history with their first-ever dual meets. They'll take on Fresno City College and Skyline College in back-to-back matchups on February 19 at Skyline, with action starting at 4 p.m.

Stay tuned as the Bear Cubs continue to make their mark on the mat!
