On April 19, the SRJC women's wrestling team traveled to East Los Angeles College to compete in the 3C2A State Championships. After qualifying seven athletes, the Bear Cubs made a statement in their inaugural season, earning three individual medals and securing an impressive 11th place team finish—just 2.5 points shy of cracking the top ten.
Four Bear Cubs advanced to the quarterfinals, and three went on to reach the medal rounds.

Jasmine Vo (145) rebounded after a tough quarterfinal loss, rallying with three straight wins—including a dramatic, last-second takedown to win on criteria (8-8) over Cerritos' Casey Otero in the consolation finals. Vo secured the 4th place medal with a 3-2 record.
Also representing the Bear Cubs were Jessica Gonzalez (117), Emily Lau (131), Jimena Mendez Cano (131), and Luana Stathopoulos (138)—all of whom wrestled tough and gained valuable experience on the state stage.
The team graduates only one sophomore, Emily Lau, and with a strong returning core, SRJC is poised to make even more noise in year two.
