The Bear Cubs traveled to Woodward Park for the Fresno Invite to preview the State Meet Course. The top teams in the state traveled to Fresno, bringing with them a lot of quality. The Bear Cubs finished 12th overall as a team, the 6th fastest team from the north. Once again, Luz Sanchez-Huerta and Erica Ruiz were side-by-side throughout the race, putting pressure on some of the top runners in the State. Luz matched her time from last year at the same course (but at the state meet at the end of last season) and finished the 5k in 20:35. Ruiz had a strong last mile and finished 25th with a time of 20:04. Trixie Scolari and Meaghan Woody, both from Santa Rosa High School, competed in their first collegiate race, battling well against some tough competition. The Bear Cubs look forward to next week where they will preview the Big 8 Conference course at Granite Regional Park in Sacramento, CA.
