SRJC Women Cross Country Host the Pat Ryan Invitational

In their 3rd meet of the season, the Bear Cubs hosted the 12th annual Pat Ryan Invitational with great weather and 12 teams in attendance at Spring Lake. Despite having a small squad due to illness, the women ran with classic Bear Cub intensity. In the lead was Angelina Law with a season's best of 20:15.4 and a 3rd place overall finish against a tough field of forty-seven.

Ana Drake-Tripp finished in 17th place with another season's best of 22:02.3. Running in her first collegiate race, Claudia Provan finished 21st, with a time of 22:45.7, which is a collegiate best.

Overall, the women showed a lot of toughness and dealt well with the intense pace for the first mile. Going forward, the women will be flying under the radar, as they come back full-strength, ready to compete and make an unexpected impact.

Leading the team results on the women's side was De Anza with 35 points, beating out 2nd place American River (52 points) by 17 points. Rounding out the top five was Modesto with 64 points, San Juaquin Delta with 83 points and Sierra with 106.

The Bear Cubs will be competing back at Spring Lake at the Sonoma State Invitational on Saturday, Oct 1, 2016.
